Remodeling the kitchen?

Remodeling kitchens can be really challenging like this before and after. In this case, all of the cabinets doors and drawers were in a bad shape but most of the inside structure was still good so in order to save money, time and resources we should always evaluate whether some things are still in a good condition before destroying everything.
A functional and clean kitchen is really important for Feng Shui experts, not only is associated with our health, happiness, and wealth but also, because of the stove, which represents the fire element in your home. Always keep in mind that having a messy kitchen with to much objects in counter tops might create a negative energy in your space, which might cause impact in the health of family members.

How to bring Feng Shui for your outdoor space in summer?

If you have an outdoor space, please consider it as another important room of your house, these spaces are often neglected and if this type of energy is present in your outdoor living spaces, that can completely ruin the good interior vibes you’ve been achieving.

So here are just a few simple advices:

  • clear your space from clutter like old and rusty furniture that are useless, dead plants, tools, sports items, etc;
  • create a relaxing corner with comfy pillows, where you can chill, read or even take a nap;
  • Boundaries and natural fencing are important to keep your privacy and most of all bad energy,pollution and noise away from your home. A natural fence could be a row of shrubs or trees along your outdoor space but you can also install an artificial fence and decorate it;
  • Here is where you can use and abuse plants but choose wisely and according to your availability, they are also living beings and need care and attention, specially in hot summer;
  • always have some shadow and even if it only fits a small table, place one for breakfast, a snack or these days even working on the computer.

And most of all, enjoy your outdoor space!💚

Composting and Feng Shui?

Yes certainly, both are about earth energy, transformation, cycles, changing our old habits and ways of living for achieving wellbeing, but in this case our action has direct impact for all of us globally.
If you’re committed to a green lifestyle, you may already be composting but for the ones who didn’t have the chance yet, did you know the world dumps a massive 2.12 billion tons of waste every year?

When we compost, we are keeping that waste out of the landfill and transforming it into something that’s good for the environment, and not bad. Composting sequesters carbon in the soil (rather than putting it in the air by incinerating waste) and limits methane by keeping waste out of landfills. Currently, 95% of compostable waste goes to landfills or is incinerated.
Home composting involves people collecting their food waste in bins. From there, we can either take the food waste to a local composting collection site ( farmers markets or websites like @sharewaste) or compost the waste ourselves and then use it in our own garden.

Upcycling old furnitures…

Applying objects in peers, inside couples bedroom is one of the most used Feng Shui advice, so in this space these wonderful chairs make the perfect balance.
Here is a little story about this unique 1950’s armchairs.
About 10 years ago, my husband bought an apartment in our neighborhood for us to do some remodeling and then rent it.
The house belonged to an 90 year old lady that happily lived there since she got married but, due to her age, she had to move to a nursing home and so decided to sell the house.
Her family took some personal items but left pretty much all the furniture and these two pieces immediately catched my eyes. They were in a green velvety fabric and still in a good condition, so we took them to one special upholsterer that made his magic and here is the result of this 70 years old armchairs.

Fireplaces and where to place them?

Fireplaces, representing Fire element in Feng Shui.
Usually they stand as a focal point inside home and we can also use it as an exhibition piece that holds other objects that we like to show.
This vital and strong energy is most active in cold seasons, so in summer and spring its fire energy is off.
When looking at different elements at home, remember that even being a fireplace when it’s off it may no longer represent fire element so light a candle above it for example in order to keep its fire energy going, even though not as strong as when it’s turned on.
However, the first thing we should know is that when placed properly it can bring a great addition to your home and in a way that helps your life or, at least, doesn’t do any damage that range from serious problems or accident.
Generally, the best directions to place it would be south, east and southeast, but other factors should be taken into account and only a professional can provide this assistance.
Always consider having a Feng Shui study about your home with professionals, this will certainly help with all the doubts that can occur and even plan from the start ( before construction) the best place to build it.
