Sunflowers are known for their ability to brighten spaces and gardens. Their vibrant color attracts bees and our attention. They can completely transform a space, making it more cozy and welcoming, and are often used in kitchens, living rooms, and entryways to create a sunny and inviting atmosphere.
In feng shui, sunflowers are associated with attracting positive energy and good fortune. Placing sunflowers or images of sunflowers in the home or workplace is believed to increase happiness, bring good fortune, and create a warm and welcoming environment. 🌻
Summer has arrived in the northern hemisphere of the planet and, for the practice of Feng Shui, this means that this energy is characterized by the fire element.
This time of year is full of energy, light and heat, but the fire element is also very powerful and requires control and attention.
Fire, which keeps us warm, can also burn us, so it is clear that we must use this powerful source of energy carefully and in balance with other elements, such as the wood and water elements, which are capable of bringing a wonderful feeling of freshness and tranquility to any environment.
Being closer to trees, plants and water can help balance your Chi in the summer, within your body and mind, and within your living spaces.
In terms of storage, although this wasn’t originally part of Feng Shui methods , we actually seek harmony and balance within our homes, so this aspect has become important for the practice of Feng Shui as well, since everything revolves around energy ( Chi).
In fact, when we have a large amount of things, in this case shoes, it can be difficult to manage the space inside our home. So to begin with, we should choose the shoes that we actually use, and let go the ones we know we cannot use, like no longer fit or are perhaps in bad condition. All of this is energy that no longer serves us and should be released.
Therefore, the places where we should avoid placing shoes as much as possible are behind the doors and under the beds. However, we should always be aware that their active energy should be stored in a way that does not interfere with others. Therefore, if we put shoes in the pantry together with food, it probably won’t be the best option, for all this it is necessary a good amount of common sense and perception of the situation.
Outside, all the hustle and bustle of the world awaits us, people, noise, roads and transports and even the weather, but it all ends when we enter our front door and our inner world presents itself again.
From the living room to the kitchen, from the bathroom to the bedroom, all rooms are intended for certain functions that are part of our daily lives, such as resting, sleeping, cleaning, receiving people, cooking, even working or meditating, but above all it should be a place where we feel such a good and calming sensation, especially when we need to recover energy from the entire outside world.
This is where Feng Shui begins, in the search for balance inside our homes assuming that all houses have a direct influence on their inhabitants and that there are many ways to improve life moving to a better version not only from ourselves but also our own personal spaces.
By adopting Feng Shui methods in our homes, we may tend to follow paths that are too rigid, but we can opt for a much more flexible stance, as in everything in life, take a step forward and make your own Feng Shui practice in a regular, dynamic way that is present throughout the environment, which may even vary according to moods, feelings or emotions, normalizing this way of living and establishing a greater connection between you and your home.
An important aspect of Feng Shui studies is how light and energy (Chi) enter each space, especially natural light coming from outside.
When a careful mapping of space and its directions is done, and depending on which side of the globe it is on, we can know exactly the quality and quantity of light we have in certain rooms.
For example, generally if a living room is facing south in Portugal, in the northern hemisphere it will certainly have light and heat throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset.
On the other hand, if that same space faces North, it will probably be dark and cold, with a lack of light.
In the east direction, we can benefit from the sunrise light, which is generally good for bedrooms.
To the west direction we are able to watch the sunset, so the living rooms are also great here.
