Buddha

Buddha statues are often used in Asia, inside the home are used for prayers and decoration transmitting a calming and peaceful energy.

This great symbol is most used in Feng Shui to attract positive energy into a room and specially prosperity if it is correctly placed.

So generally, the best placement for a Buddha statue or image could be in Southeast, the prosperity corner of your house, but if what you need is some spiritual growth and strength, then Northeast would be the best direction to place it.

Avoid placing them in bathrooms or bedrooms and keep in mind that the objects inside our home should be symbols of what we truly love and value,no matter what religion or belief.

Nevertheless, in Classic Feng Shui genesis,Buddha symbolizes also the knowledge past from master to student for over 200 years, with the valuable contribute of Buddhist monks as YEN BEN and SUI BENG, also Feng Shui Masters.

Learning with ancestors.

Making small steps for a more conscious living such as having a small bucket of compost in our kitchen, in reality is going back to what it used to be normal.

As a child, I spent much of my holidays in the countryside, and one of the memories I have is that my Grandma kept leftovers and organic waste separated to feed our cousins farm animals.

This is a habit that she still practices with 97 years old and waste is something that is valuable to her and not discarded, the same with paper of journal, old clothes, plastic bags and don’t even think about wasting water!

As Feng Shui entered into my life, all of these things came back to me, like a wake up call from the past teaching me that we should keep many of our family and ancestors old habits in order to have a more sustainable and balanced life.

Transform and readapt our way of living has a deep impact on our lifestyle but also in others around and for me that’s what Feng Shui is about.

Redecorating in summer season

Changing a bit our home decor as seasons move is in fact a ritual we all have. Christmas and other festive celebrations can be great to shift the environment, specially if you are someone that get’s often bored with too much time of the same decor, I’m totally with you!

One great option for summer season is to choose earthy tons such as pastel, to slow down fire’s active energy of this time of the year. At the same time you will be filling the house with light and freshness and this way you will be able to feel more comfortable and positive.

Also prefer to use natural fabrics around you, in the clothes to wear, the sheets and pillows, towels, bags and try to buy consciously searching first for national sustainable brands that really respect the environment.

Sunday’s reflection…

Sunday’s reflection is about Feng Shui and our intuition, is it all about mathematic calculation and measuring location?

It might be for some but practicing Feng Shui tought me that intuition is certainly important for Feng Shui studies, not only from the consultant point of view, but also from the inhabitants of the home.

Even before a consultation, it has happened more than once that someone tells me that they thought a certain change was better so they changed it and felt great about it, and sometimes that it even coincided with the study of the house.

Feng Shui has a lot to do with experience, changing something and feeling the transformation in our life, so we should trust our instinct as another instrument for energizing correctly our homes.

Which is your favorite part of the home and why? Do you think you could feel that about each part of the house? With Feng Shui is possible.

Do you feel reinvigorated in your bathroom?

Bathrooms can be quite a challenge in terms of Feng Shui, specially if they are right at the center of the home.

Generally, the best directions to place a bathroom are North, East and Southeast and in terms of decor we can use tree and metal elements so that water remains in its beneficial cycle, metal producing water, and water producing tree.

This element is the most recognizable inside bathrooms, meaning that in here water energy dominates the entire space, nevertheless, balancing with the other elements is essential for an harmonious environment.

One of the most common problems we face in bathrooms, like dripping taps, clogged pipes, seepage should be fixed rapidly because water’s movement, or lack of it, closely replicates the flow of energy in our lives.

So if you are having trouble in moving forward, in finding your path clearly, very worried and afraid, and even depressed, maybe you should take a look of what’s happening in your bathroom.

Once you achieve a flowing energy in this space you might experience water energy guiding you with calmness and strength as its natural ability.
