How to bring Feng Shui to your dining space.

For a beneficial and positive energy in dining room spaces, Feng Shui has some general, but great tips for you to apply in this important home area:

  • Your dining table should be large, but fit comfortably in the room. Oval or round shapes are best, but if your table is rectangular, you can balance it with rounded shapes aswell;
  • Use only natural fabrics for your crockery and textiles, and prefer cloth napkins instead of single use making a more ecological choice;
  • Keep items in good condition and discard any chipped plates, bowls or glasses;
  • A rounded bowl filled fruit, in the centre of the table, is very auspicious showing the “prosperity of life” you possess;
  • Flowers and smaller plants are also a lovely decoration , just remember to do not use dried ones for its stagnant and decay vibration;
  • The energy flow in a dining room needs to be more calm (yin) than active (yang), so in order to help create a relaxing feel we should use pastel or neutral colours in this environment promoting the calming energy we need around the table.

Bathroom Feng Shui tips.

Back in the ancient times , bathrooms were commonly placed outside the house, and in China they rarely even existed for the richest people, there were special workers that carried family evictions during the night.

Modern ways of living changed all of that, and bathrooms are now part of our home so we should consider some important aspects to apply in this space:

  • Too much decoration in the bathroom is unnecessary and will not bring any positive energy;
  • Don’t place flowers, artworks and photos of you or your family;
  • Keep the door closed;
  • Close the toilet lid after used;
  • Avoid sleeping against a wall that touches a bathroom;
  • Never place auspicious or spiritual symbols such as Buddha or other holiness.

Finally, this space of cleaning rituals should stay clean, fresh and airy as much as possible, with no problems in pipes, taps and humidity preventing problems in our own health.

Objects and good vibrations.

Feng Shui generally study the energy flow and how everything is connected inside our homes.

For this reason, every object also emits a vibration on us, not only living beings, even though we feel a much stronger impact with them naturally.

So objects can be characterized by material, color, form and symbolism. This way when we look at any object in our home, we should pay attention to what vibration we get from it.

Look around your home spaces and analyze your objects making these questions:

  • Is this material natural and soft to touch?
  • does this color make me feel good?
  • does it have a strange or pointed form?
  • what do you feel when you’re looking at it, does it bring a good sensation?

Observation is key for Feng Shui practice and sometimes doing this exercise can help unblock stagnant and negative vibrations, bringing what we need that is a proper energy flow throughout the entire house.

Bamboos at home.

Bamboos are one of the most successful symbols of Feng Shui practice.

Normally they can be placed in prosperity corner, Southeast but other directions like East and South can also get along well with this tree element.

In Asia this lucky plant brings good fortune and prosperity and the number of Bamboos we apply have also different meanings, but avoid placing 4 together because is considered a non auspicious number.

Caring for bamboo plants is easy and simple, just keep the water clean when placed in jars and remember that it grows fast and thick, while adding a charming touch to any environment.

  • lots of furniture and obstacles are also something to avoid, they need space for their expansive energy;
  • the beds should be positioned in a way that they can see the door and feel protected;
  • involve children in sorting out the toys they really want to keep and encourage them to give away;
  • not having electronic devices turned on at night is crucial for a good night sleep;
  • have a good lighting where they study and if it’s possible place the desks near the windows;
