How to create a relaxing corner in your home?

We might not see energy flowing, but if we pay close attention, our instincts are able to tell us which parts of our home we like the most.

Of course that with a Feng Shui study, we can accurate information on the best placement or orientation for each inhabitant, for example a Fire element person can feel great at South corner direction.

But still, if you already know where do you feel best in your home, try to create a cozy space where you can relax, read or even take a nap.

Illuminate this space with adjustable lamps, not forcing your eyesight and avoiding wasted energy.

For preventing allergies and feeling of discomfort, try using organic and ecological materials in pillows and blankets, such as responsibly produced cotton, fabrics made from bamboo, hemp or linen.

Surround this environment with things you love, like plants, your favorite magazines, a soft blanket, aromatic candles,etc.

Having your own personal corner can help you find the peace you need while gaining energy and strength to beat life’s daily challenges.

Finding balance with Nature.

Even when we are lucky to have a well balanced home, in terms of energy flow and with several Feng Shui practices, we should also pay attention to how much time we spend on it, especially at this challenging moment we are all facing.

Nature is our best helper in terms of balancing our inner energy, spending time outside can reboot our body and mind, something that sometimes not even our homes are able to give us, even if they are incredibly awesome.

Children are also very affected by this situation, spending too much time at home playing with electronic devices and consequently having social and behavior issues.

For most of us connecting with nature is something that automatically makes us feel better, especially if we know the best element for us to connect with.

For this reason, go out into the nature alone, with friends, with your family , and find out what makes you feel reinvigorated:

  • A Tree element character goes well with wood, forests, trees, so surrounding yourself with this environment will enhance your well being;
  • A Fire element person should stay in the sun for a while or close to a fire pit in order to energize its power;
  • An Earth element person can walk in the mountains to achieve a better balance;
  • A Metal element personality can walk in the earth’s depths, expeditions or climbing big rocks adding some radical excitement to this element;
  • Finally a Water element person, will benefit obviously getting into the water, diving, surfing or swimming in the sea, rivers or lakes all year around not just in summer time.

Of course each of us need all the elements too, but if you are feeling more tired or unstable always search for your element in nature so that this energy can bring you back to a more balanced and healthy body and mind.

Pantries

As the season and circumstances are making us to eat more at home, let’s take a look at our pantries.

Pantries can easily turn to a messy place, that’s why we should keep it well organized and clean.

Don’t let your pantry come to the point where is chaotic, especially with food and ingredients that already expired.

Storage your ingredients like pasta, flours, rice and others in glass containers, the advantage is that they last longer, you can have a better notion of the quantity you need and besides of being more sustainable, they are certainly nicer.

Buying food in bulk stores is also a great option, where we can even bring our own containers and considerably reduce plastic waste.

Independently on which section your pantry is located inside home, beware that all of this “nests” of chaotic energy can bring a non beneficial or stagnant flow into your home.

Even when you apparently have the most beautiful kitchen, what’s inside of it also counts a lot.

BAGUA

The magic square or Bagua, is also used by some Feng Shui practitioners as another tool for a more intuitive approach, this extra layer of information is a great way to complete any space interpretation.

Placing correctly the Bagua over the house or business plant, is the first step to decipher the energetic characteristics of the space.

Each section will correspond to a different area, and when matching this information, we should be able to evaluate in which parts of the home we can improve the energy, and consequently, which parts of our own life.

What Feng Shui tells about objects above and below the bed?

According to most of the experts in this matter, it’s not a good idea to place something heavy above your bed, even books on shelves or a big heavy piece of art, this might create an unstable energy that can disturb a proper sleep.

Also beneath the bed you might check if the energy is flowing in a way that is possible to clean all the dust that is usually there.

If you keep objects under the bed, only bed clothing is preferable, and properly organized and clean of course.

Beware that where you sleep is actually the place where we all spend most of the time in our homes, so the energy of this environment can have a big influence in your well being.
