Fireplaces at home.

As we enter the colder seasons, and for those who benefit from this great energy boost, fireplaces take a very important role in every space.

Back in ancient times, they were used to cook, warm and protect,
being extremely well cared for and a pivotal point of family life.

Nowadays, fireplaces are no longer a vital source of life and tend to be used more in the celebrations or weekends when we have the time to be around it.

This strong fire element should always be under supervision and we should never light a fire and leave the house, this energy is able to bring us light, heat and happiness but also it can explode and destroy with great violence.

In Feng Shui practice, the fireplace is like a hole in the house where energy can also escape, so having a door or a protection grid is fundamental, especially with children around.

In terms of form, the chimneys that come out from the wall are not very good for those who sit near them, nevertheless these protrusions or sharp corners can be softened with shelves or baskets of wood.

The placement is also really important, but only with deeper knowledge of the house with a Feng Shui study, we can
find the best spot for placing fireplaces.

Tree Element in home decor

Wood or Tree element representations could bring amazing feelings and sensations into any space.

To Feng Shui practice , this element brings new energy, new beginnings and growth, and it is able to provide powerful activity (both mental and physical),enthusiasm and even some idealism.

So even when it’s not possible to have healthy plants, a wonderful representation like this could definitely make the difference and bring all this positive vibrations.

Of course adding other elements is also important, so when choosing home decor details try to incorporate all the elements in order to achieve a more balanced environment.

Feng Shui and swimming pools.

For Feng Shui experts, the pool is a really important matter when it comes to building a home from scratch.

Great volumes of water have a powerful energy, meaning that, if we have the chance we should study carefully its installation due to future effects in the area of the building, the building itself and in the natural cycle of elements in that place.

According to this ancient art, the placement, size and form of the pool are both relevant and decisive for the prosperity of the space and its inhabitants and only advanced studys could really point to the best choice.

It also must be taken into consideration the surrounding landscape and how close the water is from the home, these 2 aspects have a big influence in what type of energy this element brings to any space.

Combining Architecture and Feng Shui in matters like this could be challenging, but certainly will bring the best final result.

Indoor gardens and Feng Shui.

For some Feng Shui experts, the plan of the house or building should be square or rectangular, mainly because in this way all 8 directions, plus the center, are represented in the 9 squares of the Ba Gua.

Therefore, having an indoor garden in any space (open to the sky), it can influence the energy of the space sector and consequently of its inhabitants.

However, many times it is possible to improve this situation uniting Architecture and Feng Shui, placing for example healthy and low maintenance plants, such as cacti, which turn out to be a great way to boost energy in this space.

Since Feng Shui practice tells us that it is not good luck to have Cacti indoors, then this is a good place to admire them without danger.

Decluttering kids bedrooms.

For most of Feng Shui experts, decluttering is also part of the practice, in a sense that, for energy to flow correctly, we should first create space around us in our homes.

Kids bedrooms are one of the most common rooms where clutter can take over the place, so here’s a few simple ways to improve the energy in their space, especially now that they are back to school:

▫️ Organize the past year school material, sorting out first what’s still in good shape to reuse and avoid keeping too much paper work from previous years;
▫️Try to create different areas for study, play and sleep;
▫️If it is a shared bedroom, it might be a good idea keeping the symmetry and each one having its own area;
▫️Sell or donate to those who might need all the clothes that no longer fit, school material and toys that are still proper;
▫️Finally, keep in mind that too much clutter not only is in the way of a good energy flow, but also accumulates lots of dust that can eventually originate respiratory issues, harming health in general.
